We have a new and exciting opportunity within one of our top clients' sustainability team supporting their Group objectives to, amongst other things, deliver the net zero carbon targets for the business across 2030 and 2040.

About the role:

Under the organisation's People, Planet and Principles Sustainability strategy it has set out ambitious net zero carbon targets of 2030 for scope 1 and 2 emissions and then by 2040 inclusive of scope 3. The Group is made up of a number of businesses that all have specific roadmaps to reach these targets that require careful tracking and coordination to ensure we're clear on traction and progress. This role will lead on ensuring this as well as support the delivery of the projects and initiatives within the roadmaps.

Home working with some travel to meetings

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Provide governance and coordination of the Group's Sustainability strategy across all business divisions
  • Support and in some instances lead on project and initiative deliver across the strategy and supporting carbon reduction roadmap
  • Work with the Group Environment Data Manager to ensure that all reporting is presented accurately and on time, with the Chief Sustainability Officer fully briefed in line with governance
  • Support the Chief Sustainability Officer with the creation of materials that engage internally and externally on the businesses sustainability progress and challenges
  • Work closely with the internal communication and marketing teams to ensure that the sustainability strategy is communicated effectively
  • Provide subject matter expertise on ESG and sustainability related topics to challenge and inform the strategy

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level within a relevant field
  • Previous experience of working in sustainability related topics in a corporate environment desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of ESG and Sustainability including a range of frameworks and accreditations e.g. CDP, ISO14001, SBTi, UN's SDG's, BSC 5 Audit.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with good written and verbal articulation
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Experience of project management reporting, metrics and approaches desirable but not essential
  • Passionate about Sustainability
