Queen Mary University, University of London is seeking to appoint to the crucial role of Head of Environmental Sustainability.

The Estates and Facilities Directorate is core to the University's strategic ambition to provide a world-class managed estate with excellent facilities for students and staff. As part of the QMUL's ambitious Strategy 2030, extensive focus will be placed on enhancing, growing and better utilising the QMUL estate portfolio to create a physical environment that supports our position as an inclusive, world-class university.

Reporting to the Director of Estates, Facilities and Capital Development, the Head of Environmental Sustainably is a leadership position in the development of QMUL's estate and is responsible for defining and executing the Environmental Sustainability Strategy. A key part of the role will be developing key sustainability services and provision whilst ensuring there is effective budget management, management of risk and management of the team that deliver these services.

The post holder should be self-initiative and be able to improve the environmental performance of the procured utilities, increase staff engagement on energy management and improve monitoring and reporting of energy use. The post holder will also be required to provide day-to-day project management support to initiatives that aim to reduce our energy and water consumption, energy compliance as well as support its reporting requirements. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be experienced in stakeholder engagement. It is anticipated that candidates will be a member of a relevant professional institution and have practical experience of implementing, managing, and auditing environmental or energy management systems such as ISO 14001.
