In the position, the candidate would lead a team on triaging issues seen on compute and network components observed in our commercial fleet covering our national (SF, Austin, Phoenix) and well as international markets (Dubai, Tokyo); the Cruiser would regularly interface with Fleet Operations as well as Hardware vehicle reliability team in root causing new issues, and creating a template to diagnosing existing issues.
This is a very multi-functional role where the candidate will have to work with our Hardware, Software, Systems and Fleet Operations teams. If you're interested in working with the autonomous vehicle on debugging and triaging issues for the fleet at scale, then let's chat!

What you'll be doing:
Act as both a technical leader and manager for a small team of forward-thinking hardware test engineers working on autonomous vehicle compute and network triaging and debugging
Define technical vision and strategy, and ensure the technical direction of your team aligns with the needs of Fleet Operations team across different markets
Lead and grow a team within Compute and Network organization to support sustainability for Cruise fleet
Ensure a high-functioning team delivers quality engineering debugging and triaging along with fast, reliable, testing methodologies
Conduct performance evaluations, identify top performers, and support their growth into Engineering Management or Technical Leadership roles
Help define, build, and embody Cruise engineering culture and principles
What you must have:
Experience as a Tech Lead providing day-to-day guidance to hardware test engineers
Experience in managing testing for components at scale
Strong knowledge of Ethernet switch design, high speed interface design and validation, compliance tests for different standards such as IEEE (Ethernet), FPD, MIPI, DDR, PCIe
Strong knowledge in electrical engineering fundamentals, power & signal integrity, and analog/digital circuits
Experience using lab equipment such as bench power supplies, high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and common lab equipments
Experience with high speed interfaces such as: 25G-KR, 10G-KR, 10GBase-T, SFP, QSFP, 1G-T1, PCIe, DDR4, as well as I2C, MDIO
Good understanding and comfortable working in Linux environment
Experience leading projects across multiple teams
Experience managing, mentoring, and coaching engineers
Self-motivation and passion to lead teams, encourage standard methodologies, and constantly improve
Ability to clearly define problems and motivate solutions in technical writing
Bonus points!
Knowledge in vehicle E/E architecture including familiarity with communication architecture, power distribution and actuation
Experience in working with automotive supply chain (Tier 1, Tier 2 and OEM)
The salary range for this position is $161,900 - 237,900 . Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
