About this role
A leading architecture and design firm with offices across the US and abroad is looking for an expert on sustainability strategies and trends relative to the built environment. This individual will be responsible for building the firm's sustainability practice. They willlead the firm's newinternalsustainability team,collaborate with their studiosandinternal research team,foster internal sustainability educationand institutionalefforts,advise projectdesignteams, and provide strategic consultation to clientexecutivesregarding tailoredsustainability approaches relevant to theircorporate objectives. They will also work to establish and manage a process to track and monitor project design and energy reduction methods to determine if goals are met against industry energy reduction standards.Key responsibilities: Identify industry trends, best practices,and corporate sustainability risks as it relates to firm market sectors Establishand enhancefirm's brandpositionrelated to sustainabilityandourinternal sustainability program goals Track overall integration of sustainable design goals Ensureprojects have the tools, resources, and strategies to maximize energy-efficiency and overall sustainability LEED assessments, tracking ongoing progress, and conductingeducationaltraining and presentationsboth internally and externally Engage employees in sustainable design initiatives bycreating design resources, training,andinternal workplace initiatives Support studios and individuals in seeking certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, WELL,SITES,Living Building ChallengeSkills and experience: A professional degree in Architecture, Interiors, Engineering, or applicable sustainability field Min 10 years of experience in AEC industries with experience related to sustainability Strong and effective organizational and communication skills Knowledge of Industry standards and requirements related to energy reduction strategies of the built environment Knowledge and experience incarbon sequestration and mitigation strategies
